'Failed to erase credential' error using commandline git

description

I have a new install I try to use with an personal access token from Github (which works as a password)

When I try to use the regular command-line:
Failed to erase credential: Cannot find element
fatal: Authentication failed
This is on Windows Vista 64 with git version 1.8.1.msysgit.1.

while using git version 1.9.4.msysgit.0 and git-credentials-winstore 1.2 or 1.1
it worked with git version 1.9.2.msysgit.0

I have the same issue. I get this message:
Failed to erase credential: Element not found
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://bitfunnelbonsai.visualstudio.com/defaultcollection/_git/BitFunnel.Library/'

The first time I was prompted for credentials. Now I can't figure out how to reenter credentials.

git version 1.8.3.msysgit.0
Windows 10
Just installed git credentials.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without luck and the Windows credential manager does not seem to have and git entries.
